To realize our mission, we recognize that we
must participate with area community resources such as banks,
builders, real estate agencies, other businesses, churches and
government agencies to raise the standard and accessibility of
housing for low and moderate income families in the Jackson
metropolitan area.
An important phase of being successful is to
provide educational assistance and counseling regarding the process
of acquiring and caring for a home to interested families.
As determined by a broad consensus of Board
members and other interested parties, our five year plan now
includes seven (7) specific programs:
·
Construct
affordable housing for qualified
low-and-moderate income* applicants
·
Provide down payment assistance to qualified
low-and-moderate income* applicants
·
Participate in appropriate phases of the Jackson
Redevelopment Plan
·
Operate home-owning educational
programs
·
Assist disabled in attainment of decent, affordable housing
·
Expand the AHCD program into neighboring counties
within Jackson’s metropolitan market area
·
Create a community-supported corporate gift program to
help successful clients move into and maintain their homes
