Services

Counseling: Counseling and educating are top priorities in working with individuals and families to achieve their goals in affordable housing. Many people need this sector of our services to understand how to establish the necessary credit rating and to prepare for ownership requirements. This includes budgeting assistance, home maintenance information, and information on how to work successfully with lenders and realtors.

Homebuyer's Financial Assistance: AHCDC assists financially qualified clients in two important areas: 1) We can provide information and contacts to obtain low-cost financing and down payment assistance of $5,000; and 2) AHCDC offers 0% financing on 75% of the cost of new homes we build.

Home Construction and Rehabilitation: With our home construction program, we can build or rehab homes for qualified buyers in Madison, Chester, and Hardeman counties in locations selected by the client. We have provided forgivable grants up to $14,999 for these new homes.

Foreclosure Intervention:  If you are at risk of loosing your home, or if you have an interest rate change that will prevent you from making your mortgage payments in the near future, we may be able to assist you through education and mitigation.

Rural Development Repair Program
:  If you reside in southwest Tennessee and need repairs to your home to modernize it, make it accessible for physical limitations/handicap, or to make it safe and remove hazards, you may qualify for assistance through our partnership with USDA Rural Development for a repair grant or loan.
